Body by Pilates is a reformer pilates studio that offers a variety of classes using all parts of the body to build strength. We strive to provide the best fitness routine for every body. 


Tracey Ricks, Owner & Instructor

Born and raised in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, Tracey has always had a love for the area and loved being part of the community. Through a back injury causing a herniated disc and radiculopathy she discovered her love of Pilates. Starting as a student of Body by Pilates she began to work to heal her back through in order to avoid back surgery. Not only was she able to avoid back surgery she found her true passion, this led her to retire from a 10 year state position as an Operations Manager and pursue becoming a certified Pilates trainer. Tracey is Reformer Certified through Balanced Body Pilates and her love for Pilates has continued to grow. When the opportunity arose she felt like it was her true calling to take ownership of the studio and to continue to provide a fun, professional, and hard working environment for Body by Pilates.

Alex Brase, Lead Instructor


Alex was born in Lake Tahoe, NV and raised in Reno, NV and has always loved being from such a beautiful and community based area. She attended the University of California Davis graduating with abachelors in Communication and Psychology. After leaving college and coming back home she realized she needed a new hobby to keep busy which is when she found Pilates through the help of her mom, Tracey. Alex has since found her own passion for pilates in seeing the changes it has not only made in her own body but in the body of others. She is in training at Body Balanced University, having already completed Reformer 1 and on the journey to becoming Comprehensively Certified. She will also be starting nursing school in May, in hopes to find a balance between both to inspire everyone to live a healthy balanced lifestyle.

Lauren Ware , Instructor


Lauren was born in Dallas, Taxas and moved to Carson City at 16. After living in Northern Nevada for 11 years she decided to move to Las Vegas to pursue a career in ballroom dance. Unfortunately, that door closed when she suffered a knee energy that left her unable to walk for the better part of a year. After a slow recovery, Lauren started to work on rehabbing her knee by taking dance classes at a local dance studio where she was introduced to the therapeutic benefits of reformer and mat Pilates. She regained strength not only in her knee but throughout her body and was inspired to go through Reformer and Mat teacher training through Stott Pilates Certification, she went on to become certified in Cadillac and Apparatus.  She taught reformer Pilates and mat classes at the Pink Tutu Ballet Company while pursing her degree in education. She then moved back to Carson City, where Lauren feels she belongs and wants to share her Pilates knowledge and raise her son in a great environment. Lauren brings her passion for Pilates into every class and is ecstatic to have found such a rewarding career. 

Bri Rhea, Instructor


Bri has been practicing Pilates for about two years. Her first experience with Pilates, she thought it was going to be easy and not even a hard workout… but by the end of the class she was shaking from head to toe. With the challenge of new and different movement patters that her body wasn’t used to, she became fascinated and then hooked. She loves teaching others the correct alignment through mindful movement and body awareness during class. She’s able to cater to and challenge all levels and ages, ensuring that each individual gets the workout they choose. In addition to being Pilates certified, Bri is also a certified Yoga teacher and spin instructor. She is very excited to share her knowledge of Pilates with all the clients!
